About Act Container Sales & Rental LLC / Act Container & Dirt Worx in Northern Alabama

A Family-Owned Container and Dirt Work Business Built on Fast Delivery and Honest Dealing

Act Container Sales & Rental LLC / Act Container & Dirt Worx is a family-owned container rental, sales, and dirt work provider serving Northern Alabama and communities within a 50–60 mile service radius. Owner Jeff McKenzie and operator Amy run day-to-day operations alongside a dedicated driver—a longtime family friend who has been part of the team since the beginning. This is a small, close-knit operation where every customer interaction goes through the people who built the business.

The company's name carries real meaning: ACT is named after Jeff's grandson, Anders Crawford Teal, as a family legacy. It also reflects something the business is built around—acting fast. In Jeff's own words: "Most people have to wait weeks and weeks, but we pride ourselves on getting a container to somebody within three to five days, sometimes same day." That turnaround is backed by an active rental fleet generating consistent monthly revenue and a hydraulic lift delivery system ready to move containers across the service area.

Honest dealing and hard work aren't just values listed on a page here—they shaped how this company came to exist. When Jeff's primary semi-truck sales business of 15 years began to decline, he chose to build something new rather than wind down. Approximately 2.5 years into that transition, the container business launched. When a significant tax liability arose, he invested it into skid steer equipment instead, adding the Dirt Worx division in late 2024. That decision to reinvest in capability rather than step back says something about how this business operates.

Act Container & Dirt Worx is licensed, bonded, and insured, operating a hydraulic lift delivery system that handles container placement across a broad service footprint in Northern Alabama. The container side of the business carries an active fleet with a proven rental track record, while the newly added dirt work division expands what the team can offer to property owners and contractors in the area.

The business is grounded in Falkville and the wider communities surrounding it. Jeff's description of the team captures the approach directly: "We're individual, hometown, really honest people. We've got good roots in communities within Falkville and wider area. We're hard working and always make it work for ourselves rather than work for someone else." That independence and accountability shows up in how customers are handled—directly, without layers of corporate process in between.

The same philosophy that shapes customer relationships applies internally. The team's driver was mentored into independent success over the years, invited into family functions, and treated as a full member of the team. That's not a policy—it's how Jeff and Amy naturally operate, and it carries into how they approach service on every job.
